Farmers Roger and Isabel lovingly call their crop "tutti fruity." Their coffee consistently delivers distinct tropical fruit notes. Roger and his wife Isabel could talk with you about coffee for days. Don Roger has a degree in agronomy and loves sharing his technical knowledge and tips with visiting roasters. Their farm has a clean water source that supplies the community below with drinking water. Further, the farm has a special system of PCV tubing with tiny perforations underneath the groves of trees so that runoff from washing coffee is filtering by the earth instead of polluting streams.
This coffee was awarded as a North American Gold Medalist. The burst of fruit flavor is mostly due to the natural (dry) processing method, in which the coffee cherry dries on the bean.
This is a direct traded coffee in partnership with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers.
